30 years ago in 1992, Mauritius had set out on a new journey to develop its financial services sector. At that time, it was understood by few and mastered by fewer. There were many challenges but together we remained resilient. We have worked hard to remain competitive with the international market. Today, it is one of the key pillars of our economy. This November 2022 marks the celebration of 30 years of Mauritius International Financial Centre. The first brick was laid in 1992 with the enactment of Mauritius Offshore Business Activities (MOBA) Act and setting up of MOBA (regulator for non-banking financial services sector replaced by Financial Services Commission).
The public and private sector are coming together to offer an unprecedented calendar of events during this whole year until October 2023 which will include special events, webinars , conferences, promotional campaigns, roadshows amongst others.
